After riding SPDs for a bit, I'm going back to flats [for some riding anyway].
Everyone who has five tens complains about them taking ages to dry out. I've been wearing Mavic Switchbacks for SPDs, which are kind of soft shell type uppers. They're brilliant, you can hose them off after a muddy ride and they be dry a couple of hours later if stuffed with old newspaper.
Why does nobody make some flat shoes with a similar upper?
