Need flat shoes, will have to find some money buuuut it's an emergency so What Shoes For 😛

I can't find moons-on-sticks but quick drying, super grippy, black, not made of paper, good for wearing through 10 miles of gunky, clay laid- horse shat riddled bridleway every day until March is my remit.

helps.
Ta.

druidh, after all your adventuring, I seem to instinctively trust you on this one... I may just take a punt.

No one's opinion I trust has owt good to say about Teva's.

I'm going full on scuba-gear. This commute is making me feel like Spongebob.

I ride with a set of five ten canyoneer 2 boots & waterproof socks for most of the year in typical wet conditions.

However, when things turn really cold, I have just bought a set of these Karrimor snow boots. Look really good quality & only £35.

Edit - those 5/10 exum guides look 8)

Should re-up a post with:

"How to cycle through a river and get to work dry?"

motorman - I got a set of those boots from Go Outdoors just before the Puffer last year. That would be the mildest Puffer ever.... 🙄

mudguards indeed!

We're talking full coverage here... This morning, at pedal stroke 6 o'clock, 5 inch of Catboot fully submerged.

Sad.

Sold on MT90's.

NEXT! Trousers.

How have they been holding up? I have an opinion it is going to be another cold winter & seemed a good boot to use on the fatty, esp when night riding & things dip in to double - temps...

It's not been cold enough to wear them. Remember that very mild winter we had? Should be good though. Very toasty.

Honestly motorman, most days it's ok, but today and last Thursday was madness...

Not bothered about the bike, Inbred's all SS and sealed up.

The cycling part's brilliant, thundering through it all at 6am and the gear I have is warm, for 3-7 degrees which is standard. But not dry. At all. Nor does it dry during the day.

THUS, since i'm having so much fun I might aswell be dry and warm.

As a reward, i'm going to give a certain mechanic the pleasure of a full strip and rebuild come the new year. narhar.

I have some Revolution ones which are doing the trick as waterproof and super warm above freezing at the moment.

I remember last year windchill being a major factor with them and needing liners.

I have been known to pop those little re-useable hand warmers in on the back of my hand. Pogies look like just the trick for extremes.

what size feet do you have cfinnimore? I have some AM40s which whilst not waterproof are pretty good, with the splash panel thing over the laces. I reckon waterproof overshoes are the only real defence though, not very sexy though!

11 trainer, 12 boot bigjim. Thanks for the offer.

I know it's not just Edinburgh/West Lothian's but holy jebus, i'm used to plonking along the canal for a bit. Once I'm in Farmland all watery hell breaks loose.

I'm thinking M90's, maybe overshoes/Gators, good old trusty Merino long-johns, some sort legging plus overtrousers. The top half is well taken care of.

I am not a very sexy man until Spring :-).

The AM40's are a size EU 47, US 11.8, 29.8 cm, whatever the hell that is in UK. I am usually a size 11 UK, sometimes 10, but despite trying these on in the shop before buying them, they are just too big for me, I have very narrow feet.

There are lost of little vent holes in the toe box and side panels so maybe they aren't what you need, but the flap over the laces does a good job of keeping the worst of the splashes out. I reckon if you smeared some dubbin on them they'd seal up the holes a bit. The outside of the heel is quite low cut so not going to keep much water out there.

If you are interested let me know, I'm in edinburgh too (met you on a ride last year I think... puke hill lived up to its name?!) and you can have them cheap, they've had a few rides but in good nick, I'm getting fed up of them getting in the way.

these are they

I have aligned the funds and will be haranguing The Bike Chain for M90's tomorrow.

I would buy them to pre-empt the "dry" season, but that would be too much. Thanks though.

Re:Puke Hill. That ride popped my cherry, but thank's to you lot of scamps i'm up Pentlanding all the time, still spraff in the woods though when I eat a tree.

If you're still falling over them in March, I will buy them.

*EDIT* n/m, Willy's on the case.

What's been said about the teva links then? Thinking of getting some as the wife's pair dry out quite quickly.
