Was wondering if anyone is using shoe covers for rain with MBT flat pedals.

Got DMR V8 pedals with plenty of sharp little pins which will shred the bottom of my Giant shoe covers after a few rides.

Has anyone tried this? Is there another way?

Didn’t Endura make a shoe cover for flats?

Here you go. https://www.endurasport.com/MT500-Plus-Overshoe/p/bE1154

Yeah, I guess that's what I need. Pricey tho.

What about Altura Attack Overshoes AW16, only a tenner right now:

Tredz have the Endura for £22.... In both sizes too. I don't need them till winter so not worried about ordering from Tredz.lol

Damn you op, I didn't know I needed these till your post! Lol

I'm going to order the Endura...the Altura look well shoddy in comparison.

Scratch that. I need XL/xxl and only a few places have that in and they are all above £40... I'll wait till nearer winter and see what availability there is then.

Got to admit I liked the idea initially. Then I thought ‘naah!’ and just wear Sealskins with Vans.

Edit: and a pair of pants obvs.

the endura ones got awful reviews. Avoid. Also I noticed the position for the pedal contact is wrong - same position as for spds - not flats. They should be further back.

Ive got some BBB ones that are made for roller blades and have a velcro strap in the middle of the sole, i just tuck the strap up in the cover, works perfectly on my DMR V12 pedals

I'd be scared of destroying the straps in the BBB shoe covers. Don't they get totally torn to shreds by the pins?

Do you have to be really careful how you position your feet on the pedals?

Yeah, after looking into this there isn't a really good solution available to be honest.

In sure some would say it's a solution looking for a problem but I'm with the op,I would buy something if it worked.

I need:

Decent grip on the over the toe bottom section as having that "slick" is plain daft. I fall over enough as it is.

Any under shoe strap to be in a place where the pedal won't contact, for obvious reasons.

Lastly, it not to fall apart or cost the earth.

I think I might buy something cheap and do a few home made mods on them.😁

Edit: Something like those BBB's... But remove and sew** the bottom strap further back and glue/ sew some rubber grip on the toe section.... cut off from some old trainers or something?

** I don't mind a bit of sewing.👍

What shoes need are little pins or buckles to let you attach gaiters without getting anywhere near the sole
