Just trying to mount an older Fox shock, and the bottom hole seems to be a different size to my 2015 Monarch, so the bolt won't go through? Seems to be about 1mm out?
Googling around and there only seems to be references to offset bushings for the top etc, nothing related to the bottom mount (Giant Maestros don't have bushings in the bottom mount, the bolt just goes straight through)
It seems like there is a small silver ring in the Fox, but not in the Rockshox, can this ring be banged out?
The silver ring in the Fox is the shock bush, just knock it through and away you go.
The silver ring is a bushing, most suspension designs use one in the shock eyelet- I'd never heard of that with the maestro before but it is removable. Ideally you want to push it out with a bushing tool but if you have to, you can tap it out with a suitable drift. I have a 1/4 inch socket that's the perfect size.
Spam: if you want to buy the tool- they're generally useful things to have- then this one is good, made by and sold by a STW member, race organiser, trailbuilder and sarcastic ****.
Ah perfect cheers, I did give it a quick tap with a socket drift but didn't want to go full nuts incase it was integral.
