So, ages ago (well about 2 months back) I posted up about a knocking in a Calibre Bossnut V3 when you attempted to lift the saddle - I ended up replacing the rocker bearings and that seemed to fix the issue and the knocking has gone - or it had gone.
It seems to be back again and on closer inspection (again!), it seems the top of the shock is moving laterally - about 1mm movement.
I'm assuming I'm needing to replace the mounting kit but I'm not entirely sure what I'm needing. Internal dimension is 8mm, 12.7mm is another measurement and I think the gap between frame mounts is 22mm.
I'm on the TFT Tuned website looking at a new mounting kit but I'm not sure if I'm about to order the right thing - https://www.tftuned.com/tf-tuned-mount-kit-127mm-m8/p2937 - I'm unsure as I think on the Bossnut, there is the middle bit (that the shock sits on), 2 top hat washers and the 2 bolts, but that TFT Tuned mounting kit appears to have some more bits to it (unless those bits are in the frame and I've not seen them).
Anyway, if the top mount is moving, should I do the bottom mount as well?
I can't find a contact method for Calibre as I'd be emailing them to get the details so I can order the right parts and when I call Go Outdoors, they don't have the details to hand either, so I'm looking to sort this as I suspect that lateral movement isn't ideal as it might put a bit of premature wear on the shock.
So I'm either needing to replace the mounting kit or find a way to tighten the existing one up to prevent the small lateral movement.
Any thoughts from the hive as I'm sure this won't be the first time this has happened and hopefully someone has either fixed it or ordered the bits and can confirm what I need.
Thanks.
The ones on Tftuned are a different method so do look different than what they are replacing but should be an improvement in how long they last.
As long as you have those three measurements correct it should fit
(I think...) (Maybe)
