What varies on different bikes and shocks?

The distance between the eyes on the frame
The diameter of the hole in the shock

What else?

My 5 has the two aluminium top hats on the rear mount, the Patriot has a large hollow axle instead. Are the two interchangeable?

Width of shock in frame, (width of bush)
diameter of mounting bolt (hole in spacers/mounts)
Eye to eye of shock,
Stroke of shock
diameter of shock eyelet but 1/2" X 1/2" (12.7mm X 12.7mm) on Rockshox & fox. (eyelet bush/du bush diameter)

Also:

All compatible, for 1/2" x 1/2" apart from fox low friction as spacers different width due to shoulder on eyelet bush (cream parts)

Those bushes worked perfectly on the 5, not on the Patriot though. I'll have to come up and see you tomorrow morning Loco If you have anything.

Manitou Swinger x4
Frame width is 22mm
Diameter of stainless steel 'tube' is 12mm
Internal diameter of shock eye is 14mm

eyelet bushes , yes spacer no as pretty rare we're asked for them now, try the bushes first and can always order spacers if needed.

Hmm, may not be enough. The tube bit is visibly worn, plus I've managed to lose one of the washers.

PS Loco, sorry - I found a complete hardware set at Rush in Bridgend so picked that up instead.

Took the forks to Cwmcarn on Saturday, after only one ride they were plusher than ever - thanks for all your help and patience!
