Probably makes naff all difference, but got a Rockshox Monarch and the mount kit is basically similar to a TF Tuned heavy duty kit except TF use a spacer and separate rubber washer, whereas Rockshox use a spacer with rubber seal inside.
The axle between the two are much the same (TF's maybe a bit more durable as seems fractionally heavier). Just wondering if the Rockshox spacer is "better" than TF's or vice versa.
Only asking as while sorting out a worn bushing on the Monarch I noticed the mount kit is similar and just happen to have a TF kit from a Fox and wondering if their spacer+washer is a better choice.
As I say, probably makes naff all difference though 😀
As you say, basically the same- "heavy duty" in this case just means "not a shitey useless tophat deal"
There's also the various low friction options. I can't personally tell if it makes a difference but they're more expensive and that's good enough for me.
I always worry with 'heavy duty' stuff, especially bushes - they're really sacrificial, somethings got to wear, and it's meant to be the small, cheap easy to replace bushes - not the frame or the shock.
The bushings are actually the same as always. Or were in mine anyway
Yeah, standard DU bushings. Though I've replaced the worn one with poly bushing as already had a pile from TF. Supposedly more durable, but then yeah you could wonder if it wears the mount kit (shouldn't wear the frame as there's no movement there). In this case TF's mount axle is a sturdy stainless steel job. Rockshox mount axle feels lighter and might be ali. Is painted black and the black paint wears off. Refits tight with a new bushing though.
