I've had play in lower shock bushings on Meta for a while...it's only going to get worse during a week in the Alps.
It was suggested to me that I might as well leave them and replace when I get back...when they will be well and truly borked. If I don't sort prior to going I think I'll wish I had..what does STW think?

Depends if you can get the bits in time. I know the clunking would pee me off after a while, especially on a nice trip away.

If you have time to get the bits, I'd do it.

Seriously, it's a 5 minute job. Or you could do the standard month's riding in a week on already worn parts & wreck your shock eyelet(s). You did ask. 🙄

If you do it sooner you can just replace the hula hoop. If you leave it too long then you'll need new top hats. I'd do it now. A week in alps is a good few months UK riding for me.

Yep - I know that's the right thing to do...the ever increasing knocking will piss me right off after a few days.
Don't have a drift tool - a home bodge looks easy enough...IF I had a vice 🙄
Leisure Lakes near Derby did it for £25 (remove old and replace with new bushing and top hats) a couple of years ago so I'll call them tomorrow...cheers all

You can buy a special tool and a couple of bushes on eBay for about a tenner.

I jammed some electrical tape in mine and that worked a treat for a whole alps trip. Looked a bit naff but better than rattling bad times.

not really. Just need to get the right size. I've bought 2 (a 12mm and a 1/2" for different bikes) from different sellers and both were fine. Its a basic tool but works perfectly.
