Hi everyone. First post in a decade 🙂
Anyway I just bought my son a retro frame (Spesh Stumpy FSR 06) with no shock or pivots or anything, just holes. I have a spare shock I can use, and I've worked out where to source the bushings I think (china ebay) but cant find the little axle things which fix the thing to the frame (with an alan bolt at each end). Dont even know what theyre called. Are they a standard size or different for each frame?
And is there something industrial and general which I could whack in there instead (love those kinda hacks) .. I have a werid brass thing off an old wooden deckchair which kinda fits but it's a bit mad and I need 2 of them anyway 🙂 ...
There are three things involved in holding the shock on;
1. The eyelet bush. Standard size, pressed into the shock, available from loads of places
2. The reducer kit e.g. https://www.tftuned.com/shock-mount-hardware/tf-tuned-127mm-foxrockshoxinline-mount-kits/c69 that goes through the bush and works with
3. Shock 'bolt'. Usually a steal shaft with female threads in each end to use to clamp everything down, but designs do vary (some are a custom bolt that threads into the frame on one side). This is the tricky part to get hold of as they are frame dependent.
Dont even know what theyre called
Sex bolts.
