I want to swap out my Shimano Deore brakes with Hope 4 brakes. Can I use the existing Shimano brake hose or is the internal size different.
Why would you? Tech 4s will come with hoses. Also your existing Shimano hose has contained mineral oil where the hope brakes use DOT fluid.
Because I don’t like Shimano brakes and my new bike has internal brakes hoses which run along side the internal battery which makes it a nightmare to replace.
I meant why would you reuse the hose. What your proposing is a bigger ball ache than swapping the (single rear) hose.

On the Orbea Rise forum they were saying that the Jose’s are zip tied together as they run along the side of the battery. You have to drop the battery out to do the job.

Sorry, but the quote above is pretty much the end of the discussion.
Shimano hose will work with hopes and I know what you are thinking, I did the same because I didn't want to drop my motor out.
What I did was disconnect the caliper and brake, flushed the mineral oil out of the hose with a syringe and DOT 5 - did this a few times and then fitted the barbs and olives for the hope brakes.
You will just have to buy new barbs and olives for the hopes because they come ready to go.

The fronts no problem, its just the rear. I'm intending to get those little hose mounts that stick onto the frame, maybe held more securely with zip ties. Just externally mount the hose. Not ideal, but trying to get it around the motor internally or when it goes from the rear triangle to the front would be really tricky. External will make the entire headache a lot less of a headache.
Thank you,I will do that tomorrow as I have spare olives and barbs.
The easiest way is just to use your current hose to feed through the new hope one, you can get joiners to do this, or use something else to join them, then slowly pull it through, i find using the old one is just as much of a faff with a full bleed required, putting new barbs and connectors on and so on.
