Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I'm trying to save some weight on my bike at the moment and the first thing I'm looking at is cranks. I'm quite a hard rider, and live in the Lakes so I want the parts to be strong too. They will be going on my Covert.
For cranks I'm looking at XT and putting a single ring on or E13 TRS+. The E13's come up at 710g with a bb (according to their website). Does anyone know the weight for current XT cranks?
I'm finding it very hard to find shimano weights!
Thanks for the help!
Tim
Search on here there's been a couple of threads recently that i've looked at with shimano crank weight comparisons.
I believe there is little different between SLX/XT/XTR
Might be better spending it on wheels or something like that
600g without BB or chainring. SLX weighs the same.
Oh really?? I never realised that. Although it is only 18 quid difference on crc between the 2.
Not sure about the very latest generations, but the previous ones were about 590g. If you were lucky you might get an SLX that was a couple of grams lighter than an XT (my dodgy kitchen scales had my SLX at 586g). XTR is lighter at around 520g, iirc.
Google image search is great for this type of stuff. Just put put "SLX crank weight" into it and chances are there'll be a pic of some on a scale within the first couple of hits.
