I would want something less sticky for that otherwise you are into mucky black grinding paste territory. So something like purple extreme, viking juice etc.

I think almost certainly not as it does not say it's PTFE free (stuff that kills that very environment we love to ride). I've been using Green Oil ( http://www.green-oil.net) on my Zesty and road bike for years now and all year round. It works very well.

Cheers guys I tend to use the rock n roll blue, or a chain lube I found in my dads garage, excelllent stuff, but couldn't find the brand online and it's nearly done, my supplies ran low on rock n roll too
So Bought a few bottles of this shimano stuff for £2.20 each 100ml, can always use having cleaned the bike and stop it rusting before the Next ride whilst it sits idle

It should be fine. Anything is going to wear your chain down in truly shitty weather, so I'd ignore the grinding paste comment and just make sure you clean the chain/sprockets/chainwheels after every ride and reapply lube.

Got some a while back Because It Was Cheap

Sticky so it stays on and sticky so it attracts debris and converts the drivetrain into a conveyor belt of cack

Curiously effective on stanchions though

Use chain wax, much better than any wet lube.

I rate purple extreme for all year use.
As said, clean chain, cassette and chain rings after every ride

It's the stickiest, muckiest lube I've used and quickly turns drivetrains into black, dirty blobs - but on the upside, it keeps things running reasonably smooth.

The dry version is better though.

Shimano lube stinks like old engine oil and attracts so much dirt it's unreal. Never again.
