Because I am 1) tight, 2) curious and 3) have various rear derailleurs on the shelf I’ve been trying different options on a new build.
Currently the bike has RS505 sti levers (11 speed) and the I’ve just changed the rear derailleur from a Deore XT M772 (9 speed) to a dura ace 7900 (10 speed) on a link extender. Cassette is Shimano HG800 (Ultegra) 11-34 11 speed. Both rear derailleurs cover the width fine but each has a glitchy spot at a different point along the cassette where the indexing goes out. I’m not surprised; they are after all designed for different systems. In general they are liveable with.
Before I fit the Rival1 rear derailleur to see if it eliminates the glitching, I recall that the cable pull at levers differs from Shimano to sram, but is this the case only on mtb or does it extend to road as well?
Yours in curiosity and frugality.
Extends to road as well.
Sram 10spd road works with any sram 10spd XC. I have red shifters disc with XO long cage and running a 40 cassette on my bamboo gravel bike.
