Anyone had this fault code E01 13 ,looks like a firmware problem but I don,t fancy a 4 hr drive back to dealers ,any help appreciated .
Dude...
I can't belive MTB has come to this. Fault codes?
On Topic, I have no experience with Steps etc, but in almost all electromechanical systems, it's the physical aspects that cause the problem. Assuming it used to work, try checking all connections and giving them a gentle clean and reseat.
peasant (ace name BTW!), download the Shimano E-Tube app, pair it to your bike (6 digit code is usually 000000 or 123456 to connect first time) via bluetooth, and run the updates it tells you it needs.
I've seen that error code a few times now on Steps equipped bikes I've sold, it's a calibration issue between the crank and the motor from memory, it's frustrating to say the least but fairly easy to fix via firmware updates usually...
Where are you based incidentally?
E013 is a vague (general) problem usually meaning the sensors not speaking to the controller.
it'll E013 if you switch it on with pressure on the crank. (torque sensor)
Try opening the connection case. (3 cross head screws) removing all the connectors (the small ones just pull off, the big one has a s=hroud that need lifting before pulling it off), cleaning out the sockets, drying it all adding a little grease to the connectors and re connecting.
If that gives you no joy try using the app to update firmware.
if still no joy take it to your nearest dealer (that has the PE-01 interface, for a firmware re-load)
oh... Ps. OMG !!! E bikes !"!!11111!
Get an EBD2 reader and use Torque Pro
Yeah. E013 happens if you have any weight on the crank when you turn it on.
You aren’t doing that are you?
Update -could not get bike to connect to e-tube app so phoned around local bike shops (beds) and found one with shimano diagnostics tool, have taken it there where it sits as they are busy, bike is only 1 ride old !! ,thanks for all your replies
mboy
peasant (ace name BTW!) thanks
Try turning the cable adjuster a quarter turn clockwise? If that makes it worse, try going the other way?
Had this on mine a couple of times, removing the battery waiting 5 mins and replacing seemed to sort it. Also had it with weight on cranks on switch on too
