Are SRAM and Shimano 12 speed quicklinks interchangeable with each others chain?

And (unlikely I think) but 12speed quick link on an 11 speed chain? I guess they’re too narrow.

Yes SRAM in Shimano is fine.

I doubt you can mix speeds

I fitted an 11-speed link to a kid's 12-speed chain a few weeks back ... didn't think it would work, but he said it shifted better after that. It was a non-SRAM link onto a non-SRAM chain on a SRAM groupset.

Shimano use a joining pin on all chains don't they? Wouldn't chance using that on a different chain.

No, they don't. HG40 8 speed and all 11 & 12 spd Shimano chains use a joining link
