Seems to be many conflicting views, is it shoe dependant? Been happy with Shimano 42's in the past but the AM5 I tried were too small. I'm a 7.5 or 8 in 5.10, 8 in most trainers etc. Looking to order some M089 or similar, would a 43 be a better bet? Mail order is the only option at the moment so I may order both to be safe..

If you could post the model and size you have that would be useful!

found the newer shimano very narrow, ended up with the northwave mid enduro after ordering about 12 various shoes from retailers who do free returns

All my Shimanos have been a 45 and fitted ok. A 45 in Giro is too small and a 46 HV is a bit large but ok for sealskins. So a size down from Giro if you've had any of theirs.

I just bought a pair of ME7 in a 48 after reading they come up small even compared to other Shimanos. My other two pairs of shimanos are 47s and lo and behold the 48s are a bit too big. Ridden them now though. Anyone with a 47 want to swap? Oh look, a flying pig.

Felt in the middle when I got my new ones - try them on worth the extra to know it's right as we have no idea what shape your feet actually are.
