specifically another pair of a model you have owned, are they making them small and narrower?

Shimano shoes are just small and narrow anyway

I heard they'd changed their lasts and made them a bit wider - maybe you got an 'old last' pair this time?

they've always come up narrow for me though (although the MW02's I got a size or two too big have been fine for winter). Specialized are far better, generally for width.

I'm a 44 in my 7-year old shimanos (no idea the number but they are the old grey/black suede 'leisure' spd's, and couldn't walk comfortably in more recent 44's. I take a 44 in most normal shoes and can rattle in my 45 specialized comps.

I find I go up one size with shimano and they do E sizes for wider feet.

Did you have your M300s custom moulded?
