I'm a size 43 in everything but have wide feet. I was looking at a Shimano 44 wide. Am I on the right lines?

If it's any help as a comparison.
I've had three pairs of Shimano shoes. A set of really old race shoes, can't remember the number 43, M221 race shoes 43 and MW80w inter boots 44. I'm also a 44 for Specialized S-Works race shoes and 44 for Lake casual type shoes.
So for me Shimano tend to be a size smaller (big socks in the winter boots)

Yep, I got the MO87s in a size up from normal - fit perfick. Get bigger than normal, they've got a good rachet system.

I'm a 9 in everything else and I've got 43 and 44 Shimanos- the 43 fits but is snug, as in thin socks snug. The 44 is a wee bit slack but is ideal for winter- big socks snug.

Best to try as personally I'd disagree with sizing up...I normally go for size 43 and definitely prefer the fit of Shimano's shoes in 43. I have some winter goretex Shimano in 44 and they feel too slack but it's not so bad as tend to wear them with Sealskins (I have worn my size 43 Shimano's with Sealskins and they were still fine and not too tight)

Normally a size 48 just got some M087's in Wide size 50. They are just long enough and a little narrower (but wide enough for me) than the size 48 regular width Specialized they are replacing (worn to death).

I can only assume the regular width ones are designed for hooved (hoofed?) animals.

My m182's fit well with a pair of seal skins socks under, but too large with light weight summer socks. So I bought one size down m086's for the summer. Result? Couldn't get
My foot into them. Even within the brand, there's a fair bit of differences between shoes. I'm off to evans to try on some MW182's before I buy!

Ended up buying a size 45 in the M087! 44 way too tight. Fair play to Evans Cycles who honoured their price match guarantee - picked them up for £59.
