Bored with soggy feet.

Is it still true that Shimano size up too small? If I am 10.5 or 45 in normal shoes, without wasting time of an lbs, what size am I in Japanese?

I do have big feet and need 46 or 47 for most makes but I need 48 in Shimano. I do get irritated when people recommend going up a size to wear thick socks in winter when I have reached maximum size already!

Yeah, get a size bigger. I got my usual size and Shimano's sizing is smaller than everyone else.

You think you have problems, I normally take a size 49/50. For shimano winter boots I would need 51.

Northwave celcius arctic are a better shoe anyway IMO.

I'm normally a 42 or 43, tried Shimano MT91s in 44 and 45. Bought the 45 for winter use with two pairs of socks. 44 were fine with 1 pair.

Best to try them as the shape is also a bit different from, say Spesh BG shoes.

Think I'm one down on my old specializeds and 2 down in the road shoes

Try to try 'em while pedalling if there's a demo pair in your LBS. I had some Shimano road shoes that felt fine in a 44 when I was sat down trying them on in the shop but they were absolute murder 1h into a pedally ride!

Yep pop into LBS to try on.

Shimano used to be quite slim too. Not great for Hobbit wide feet.

Maybe LBS could give you a discount?

Noticed Halfrauds selling some nice range of pedals and shoes - pop in and try?

Amazon usually have user comments on fit too.

Me and Mrs are always both one euro size up in Shimano over everyday shoes.

We have race shoes and Goretex (MW81) ones with the same soles - the MW81s seem a more generous fit (so already allow for thicker socks).

Hope this helps!
