I seen someone a while ago posting about the new shimano shifters were able to be semi-sripped down to mount direct to the brake lever.....
my question is will this work with SLX shifters and XT 785 brakes.and if so what do I need to do the job??
thanks
Craig
ispec is what you mean - doesn't work with slx unless already ispec
Ah ok cheers Rob,How would i find out if they are Ispec??
they don't have bar clamps

Adapters are available to convert XT to ispec.. a call to Madison might reveal if SLX version are available, or indeed if XT ispec will fit SLX body
Can XT i-spec shifters mount to SLX brakes?
FWIW I have a Saint i-spec clamp=- looks identical to the XT one, only black- which I'd be up for trading for a standard clamp. Change of parts plan 😛 But no idea if it'll fit yours- certainly wouldn't fit my SLX but I think it's the older model.
This may be what you want.
I thought I saw someone modify an XT i-spec adaptor to fit an slx shifter, but I don't think it's possible. You would need to buy a whole new shifter.
