You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I recently bought a new wheel - an M788 XT with Centre Lock. Okay, so I hadn't taken in the significance of the "Centre Lock" part and my previous wheel had a 6-bolt rotor on it 😳
If I now buy an SLX RT64 or RT67 Centre Lock rotor, will it fit seamlessly with my existing old M525 brake and its mount adaptor or will I be stung by another compatability mismatch?
Thanks for any advice.
It should be dine.
You can also buy adaptors to fit 6 bolt rotors to CL wheels.

As long as the centre lock rotor is the same diameter as your existing rotor it will fit. You may have to adjust the alignment of the caliper if the brake rubs but that will be all.
Thanks all.
IainC - I have followed up.
Random, thanks, can you mail me postal address too please
Cheers 😆
Hopefully final question, will a cassette lockring tool fit a Centre Lock rotor lockring as well? I think so but remarkably hard to find a high confidence definitive answer through Google!
Yes, as long as it's a long one. I have a cheap one that doesn't and a Park one that does
Cool, I've got a decent one. Thanks.
