A couple of questions I need some help with please.

I'm using Shimano Dura Ace 10spd Road STI with a 9spd XT mech, running across a XT 11-36 cassette and a XT 38/24T 2X10speed double chainset. I'm struggling to get the rear indexing perfect across the whole block, any advice gratefully received.

Also does a 9/10speed MTB front mech work with the STI?

I can't use a Dura Ace mech I have due to the cage fouling the chainstay due to its positioning to match the 38T chainring.

Thanks in advance.

You probably won't like my advice, but it's to stick to a 11-32 cassette and use a long-cage road RD. 24x32 is plenty low with 700c wheels, but maybe the hills are steeper where you live 😉

It's probably worth getting your hanger aligned correctly too, one of the classic bent hanger symptoms is indexing that starts out ok at one end of the block, and gets worse at the other end.

Thanks chaps, with a bit of fettling and an extra dose of patience I've got it all working.

I wasn't sure that the 10Spd shifters would work with the 10Spd XT front mech and it may be that it shouldn't but it is 🙂 🙂
