I got my daughter a used Merida E160 a few months ago, pretty much as new (you couldn’t tell it was used!) with less than 150 miles on it. The only issue that cropped up was a significant amount of play in the Shimano MT400 B Freehub, which seemed odd to me given how pristine the bike was. Simple fix I think, complete freehub was pretty cheap at £20 ish then I also need a 15 mm hex as it’s remove the axle and free ball bearings then use the large hex to remove then add the freehub, replace the axle bearings etc. Anyway, changed it without problem, everything seemed to work ok but two rides in and I’ve noticed there is a little bit of play in the new freehub. I stripped it all down again and everything is installed and torqued as it should be. It’s running a Shimano M5100 11 speed cassette and the gears have always worked perfectly. Any ideas as I’m stumped? Thanks 🙂
