I'm going to assume the answer's "no" as, IIRC the Allen key to get a shimano freehub body off is 12mm, but just in case: can you change the axle and cones on rear deore (FH-M475) hubs so it'll accept a Maxle?

I dont know about that hub but I did a 10mm thru and a 9mm thru on a pair of newer XT hubs that have a 15mm axle.
10mm bolt goes through and you end up with effectively a 15mm QR
