You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Couldnt really warrant spending 107 on XTs. Have I done the right thing?
Owner thoughts etc? I think they look better (spider etc).
But 20quid difference enough?
if only you'd waited a few more days....you could have had my LX cranks and b/b for much less.... 😯
What's £20 over the amount of time they will be on the bike?
for me it comes down to durability. XT sets the benchmark for this across all groupsets.
and colour - XT comes in black.
I had the slx hora.
They were perfectly fine.
Looked better than my partners XT ones after a longer time.
Weight was a small difference between them.
Had steel insert version as it prevented cross threading.

erm I think youve got the wrong cranks then brakes
slx have the polished arms that dont scuff up and look tatty like the black XT ones do
My previous-gen. SLX are still going strong after 4-odd years. Marked by rock strikes and other bashes, but the finish on them is still weirdly good. Can't see the new ones being any different. Only a couple of grams in it compared to XT too.
Im happy with my SLX brakes and chainring wise its having a narrow wide fitted. If I was buying shifters I'd go higher I guess. XT shouts you cant afford XT (fair to say?)
Yet weirdly SLX is starting to look cool? (Cooler?/better graphics etc). Is that a fair comment.

tatty black is better than not black 😀
Women don't look twice at men who ride SLX.
I plumped for XT as the finish on the cranks was nicer. Doubt you can tell any difference from a pedalling perspective though.
Well its done. 🙂
