Seen that Wiggle are flogging Shimano 10 speed derailleur for 19 quid, only a long cage though. Anyone know whether I could use this with a 1 x 10 set up with a 11-42 at the rear? Probably a 34 or 36 at up front
It's only rated to 36t max.
I was looking at that aswell as just broke my 10 speed mech - didn't think it has a clutch though?
Not sure what the last model i had was but was only rated to 36t but i put in longer b tension screws and it worked fine
Depending on the frame it'll work with either a longer b tension screw or a hanger extender. Shifting is nowhere near as good as with a properly compatible mech though perfectly acceptable, even if it needs an occasional double shift.
Been loads on eBay recently being sold by tri-sport-resort aka wiggle/crc clearance/returned stock.
