Just received my new shiny Icetech 6 bolt rotor from Chain Reaction.

Looked at the fitting instructions and noticed there is not only a fixing washer but 3 tightening plates required during installation. There was no fixing plate and only 1 tightening plate in the bag.

Do I need these extra bits (stupid question probably)? Anyone else fitted these?

My last rotors (Hope) only needed the six bolts? How is this progress?

The plates cover 2 bolt holes each, hence 3 plates for 6 bolts. I don't know why they are required, presumably an anti loosening device.

IMO not needed didn't fit them to mine across two bikes and all good. Shimano belt and braces approach I think.

I believe Shimano stopped shipping them 18 months ago but did not amend the fitting instructions to account for this.

Thanks folks. What about the larger fixing washer which was on the instructions but not in the packet also?

I was just going to use six small normal washers while I contact Chain Reaction to get replacement single big washer.

One rotor, 6 bolts, job done. Nothing else needed.

Cheers. I'll stop worrying and learn to love the brakes.
