Hi, 2 Shimano XT 8000 11 speed medium cage mechs. Noticed their B-links where different thicknesses ... is one right and one wrong?

Only spotted it as the bike with the thinner one was creaking slightly on the lowest gears under strain ... the B-link bolt was a little loose though.

No I don't think that's right.
XT and xtr should have an alloy b link that fills that gap fully.
SLX and below has a thinner steel link and a washer to fill the gap.
Either way there should be no unused space there.
Agree it doesn't seem right to have that gap ... would a spacer/washer support it OK do you think?
