I’ve search and didn’t see an answer... I’m looking at a MTB for drop bar ‘monstercross’ conversion. It’s has hydro deore brakes. My question... could those brakes be mated to some road levers? It’s singlespeed so no gearing to worry about

Thanks!!

Shimano only make a LH hydraulic road lever (no shifting), not a RH one. You could use Di2 Sti levers I guess.

I'm using 105 hydraulic Brifters with some ancient deore calipers and they work fine. 1x so the left hand hear shift is redundant but it doesn't get in the way

Pretty sure all shimano levers and callipers are interoperable? My deore brake lever has been happily operating an ultegra calliper for the past few years because that’s what the LBS had in their spares box.

I'm running Shimano 105 hydraulic Road shifters with xt calipers, have done for years with no problems.

As Simondbarnes says it will have gears that will be redundant in a single speed.

Have run RS505 levers on XT calipers and currently running Ultegra 8020 levers on Deore M615 calipers - all work perfectly.

I've run geared shimano levers on SS bikes before no bother at all.

I've run GRX 810 levers with ancient XT M775 calipers for 18 months and I'm still alive.
