Fancy running a bash again, so looking at triple chainsets with the ultimate plan being running a single chainring in the middle and a bash outside. However, it looks like all newer Shimano chainsets (my preferred chainset supplier) now come with outer chainring mounts specific to Shimmy chainrings (see below), making running a bash with generic mounting somewhat difficult.

Is this the case? Or are Shimano's swoopy chainrings just creating an optical illusion, and the chainring mounting area is the same as everyone else's?

Alternatively, what are my other options for a HT2 style triple chainset that still uses a regularly shaped (no manufacturer specific tabs or similar) outer chainring mount?

I've had Gamut bashes on an SLX chainset.

Which generation SLX? I ran one on an M660 chainset no problem, but not tried an M670.

M670, but the Gamut was older. A P20 from when they had lower rollers (maybe 2012-ish).
