To remove a shimano chain do you takeout the already fitted grey pin and use a new one in its place OR remove any pin and replace with new.

Remove any OTHER pin and replace. Or use a PowerLink.

OK thanks, its a 10 speed hgx not sure which Powerlink would work as yet.

Any 10 speed powerlink should- but KMC definately does. (and are dead dead cheap if you have a Decathlon nearby, their own-brand is KMC)

Excellent, I will try a Kmc chain link then, better than messing with pins.
