I have a handful of chain joining pins for an previous bike, but I can't remember which one (could have been a kids 9 speed Islabike or a 10 speed Boardman).
Is there an easy way of working out which speed chain they are for ? I carry them in case someone else's chain needs fixing rather than my own. Happy to measure the rivety bit the only way.

They have 2 grooves in the bit you break off.
