So bought my new bike 3 or so weeks ago, running XT 8120 4 pots.
From the get go, they howl and the vibration is pretty unbearable and noise is embarrassing!
Replaced rotors and pads yesterday. Replaced the rotors with the same as what came on the bike (203mm shimano) and pads are now non finned non shimano.
Went out today and exactly the same situation as before!
Have since tried realigning the calipers so will see what they are like tomorrow...
Any one fixed a similar issue? Have read that shimano 4 pot are prone to this...
Or get rid and go for another brand?
Have you bedded the pads and discs in properly?
Yes, did well over a dozen ‘stops’ to bed them in before this morning’s ride, nice bite afterwards and the first few descents on the ride they were a bit noisy but no vibration...as the ride progressed, so did the noise/vibration.
Just like on the original pads and rotors.
Can be many things. Calipers mounts not faced correctly/paint over them etc.
