Looking to replace my old Shimano shoes with a pair of these as on paper they seem to tick all the boxes, but I can’t find a single review of them anywhere which seems a bit odd. They have a speedlace system that I like and have on some other footwear but durability might be an issue here.
Anyone have a pair they can share their thoughts on?

I have a slightly older model although I think the only difference is the colour scheme.

I like them - they are comfy and i haven't had issues on the bike for long rides (10 hours plus) and also with a bit of hike a bike they were comfy for walking in.

Speed laces work well as does the velcro closure for stopping rubbish getting in.

Only issue would be how long they take to dry out (days!)

Am901s were definitely in the 'best MTB shoes ever' category. The 902s were a step backwards in fit and quality IMHO. Not tried the 903s. The speed lace system is just fine though, I know loads of people with 901s and we've never had an issue.

I have the blue/purple AM9's and really like them, not too thin, not too thick, good long cleat box so can slam them back, like the flap for keeping wet and yuck out as well as dust and grit, would buy another pair if these die.

EDIT: Mine are the 902's

I've got the 902s. Had them perhaps 18mo. Echo the positive thoughts of others generally except that I have gone through a lace. Replaced easily though, and cheaply IIRC. I like the system but I can offer that one data point on durability. It was probably within warranty but I didn't think about that for what is essentially a shoelace. Normal laces I tend to trash on thorns and the like, so nice to get away from them.

Fit on the 902 and 903 is different. Narrower and if you have a high instep lace cover doesn’t cover Velcro completely and strap is not really long enough.

But they’re stiffer (my 901s flex over the back of the pedal too much) and the sole has a deeper tread, especially at the front and back.

I had the 902 and were fine, tried on some 903 and feel the same.

I know everyone’s feet are different but I then went to crank brothers mallet and comfort levels are miles better and you can order in half sizes.

Just wish the crank brothers had lace covers

my typo. Fit is different between the 901 and the 902/3
