Has anybody had any experience with these pedals? They are half mountain bike, half road. They are to go on a road bike. I like the look of them because I don't have to buy a new pair of shoes!!

I have a pair on my road bike.
FOR:
They look more like road pedals. They work with recessed cleats so no walking like a mincer off the bike. I only need one pair of shoes. (I own three pairs, but don't NEED more than one...) They're light. The platform means they're easy enough to clip into. The surround adds more support to my squishy soled Tahos, but probably makes little difference to my stiff soled Carbon Experts or Northwave Celsius boots.
Against: The bearings are nice and loose now, and as a result the left hand one especially hangs so it faces downwards, so getting away from the lights can sometimes be a bit of a flip, curse and wobble fest.
Overall though I'd recommend them, particularly for commuting and touring beacause of the SPD recessed cleat thing.
Nice one! All really useful information there. Thanks for that!
I use the lower end A520s. When I bought the roady I wasn't sure whether I'd properly get into it or not so wanted to reuse my MTB shoes.
I like them, they do the job well.
A year down the line I'm probably using the roady a bit more than the MTB, but don't feel the need to change to road-specific shoes/pedals.
"Real roadies" probably turn away in disgust at the sight of my MTB shoes, but I can live with that.
