Got an MT520 on the front which is fantastic so thought i'd get one for the rear BUT then i saw the MT420 which is cheaper and claims to be 90% more powerful??
do i stick with the MT520 or twist on the MT420??
Those figures are nonsense - it’s just a cheaper version of the 520.

Read the Shimano literature - it’s got 90% of the power of the 520, not 90% more!

Misread - loooooooooong day! MT520 for the rear unless i can find some sram guides with code calipers
What caliper do you have on the rear at the moment? I've got M520's on my Hardtail, front and back. To be honest, a 4pot on the rear is overkill for me on that bike I find, so would consider a PX with a 2 pot caliper for my 4 pot if you've got a 2 pot I could use instead...
I’ve a 2 pot m520 on the back
Mt500 even
As it’s my only bike I’d need it before I could send mine, any problem there?
Marketing people just making up numbers. WTF does "150% more water resistance" actually mean?
Features:
- 90 % more braking power than BR-MT520
- 20 % more braking power than the current two-piston BR-MT400
- 150 % more water resistance than the current two-piston BR-MT400
- Brake pad: resin, metal

They're called Guide RE. last gen code caliper but work the same give or take.
To be honest, a 4pot on the rear is overkill for me
Whereas 13.5/14st of me thinks that Deore MT520 4-pot with Kevlar pads are the absolute shizzle and make me realise how underpowered my old two pot 500's were. I used to have issues with glazing over on some bigger descents, not any more.
what's the cheapest 4 pot caliper with banjo fitting? Anyone know? SLX?
ive had great luck picking up zees for 70-80 per end...
