You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Singletrack hive mind…
Out riding yesterday and a lot of clunking, at one point revealed the inside plate of the cage on my derailleur has decided to part ways with the derailleur snapped clean off and flapping about like a good’un from the jockey wheels
Looking on t’interweb, I can see replacement parts are available but there seems to be several available for the SLX derailleur
Is there a definitive way to identify which one I need? I had a (very) brief glance over it when I got home but could see no markings to indicate which one I have
If it helps the bike is an identiti AKA 2020 (I think that’s the year) RC build
I’ll try and get some pictures posted tomorrow but for the meantime, anyone have any advice they would be willing to share?!
Many thanks
The derailleur will have a part number stamped on it somewhere, find that, and then look it up in the dealer guide on si.shimano.com which will have an exploded diagram with all the component part numbers on it. Then you should be able to find the component part number online, SJS are good for that sort of thing.
You're looking for a part number stamp like the one in this image:
Assuming you have RD-M7100SGS (1x rather than the 7120 2x version),
Outer cage is part no Y3FY98050
Inner cage is part no Y3FY26000
cheers guys, I’ll have a closer look later today
