Hi Chaps,

Bikeradar made a nod toward Shimano making a 10sp 11-40t cassette in their article about the Praxxis 10-40t cassette. In fact they rebutted the cost of the Praxxis against the Shimano XT.

"The biggest issue for the Praxis? The fact that Shimano’s latest XT cassette does the same thing for (in the UK at least) only 75 percent of the outlay. Still, the Praxis does save a fair bit of heft over Shimano’s 411g offering – we popped our review sample on the scales and it came out as dead on the 320g claimed weight."

I'm pretty sure Shimano aren't releasing a wide range 10sp cassette. And the latest cassette they're referring to is an 11sp, which would require most folks to change rear mech, shifter, chain and freehub. Which isn't cost effective.

Anyone care to enlighten me?

Cheers

Ricks
