My first ever set of pedals and just ordered R550's instead of 105's. Have I done the right thing to save £20?

I have the R550s, never used the 105s, so can't compare, but have had no problems with the 550s, cannot fault them.

Nice to know cheers. Probably just 10grams lighter for the sake of 20quid

I went for the 550's a month ago and happy to have made the saving - and they came (from CRC anyway) with SPD-SL cleats.

You could be mistaken Jacob, 540's are about 330g, 550's 300g, 105's 285g, Ultegra 270g you will need to go for Duraace 250 g to get your 45g saving and their £140.

I've had the first ride on the 550's now and the are better than the 540 by virtue of a wider platform and £32 online.

Had my 550's for a couple of months now and they've been flawless. I couldn't justify spending the extra cash either. Good decision IMO.
