So was back on my commute bike today and the bloody Hope RX4s are back to screeching again. Front has lost some power - when I put the bike away a few months ago (stores in a dry garage) it was capable of pulling g a stoppie whilst seated. The rear still has too soft a lever despite multiple bleeds using the Hope supplied bleed syringe and instructions.
Tempted to just sack the Hope calipers off now - I’ve spent hours and hours bleeding / resetting up and have even changed piston seals on one caliper.
So it’s either back to Shimano calipers and just replace when they micro leak - or try Magura MT8 flat mount calipers instead.
It seems most people suggest running full Magura hose / Barb / olive nut at the caliper end - then at the lever end using a magura barb and olive but the Shimano nut.
Has anyone on here tried it / got any thoughts? My main aim is reliability rather than outright power.
Had problems with magura hose leaking at the banjo on mt5 on xt levers, now running Shimano hose and banjo all the way.
So the Magura to Magura bit leaked?
