TL:DR new rotors, pads, shigura setup, lacking in power.
After too many failed Shimano calipers, I bought 2 sets of MT5s to make a Shigura setup. Used m675 calipers and did the front first, using existing discs that had been cleaned, stock pads. Were ok, but still squealed slightly. If I did some dragging at the start of the ride that went, until the next time I rode them.
So, I figured new Magura discs, Uberbike RaceMatrix pads (recommended to me by many) and give the system a thorough bleed with Magura fluid.
Then went out and bedded them in on the road (dragging them to heat up, hard stop, then a bit of time to cool, repeated multiple times)
The lever is firm and consistent, no noise at all, but they just lack power.
At about 20mph if I pull the lever to the bar(very hard!) They do stop me, but I'm not locking a wheel or popping the rear into the air.
Do the Uberbike pads just take a long time to bed in?
I can't see what else it could be other than a friction issue. 203mm discs and a proper bed in, even with weight low and back it should be trying to send me out the front door!
Do the Uberbike pads just take a long time to bed in?
No, they are just crap compared to OEM sintered (or a decent pad, such as Trickstuff/Galfer/Swisstop).
The Uberbike pads don't seem as good as they were
I get great performance from the Race Matrix pads from Uber on my Codes (and similarly impressive performance on some Level T brakes as well).
I do find they take a wee bit longer to bed in, so by the end of 2 decent rides and they are great. I've just put new pads in and new rotors on...2 quick rides and they were starting to bite - ride down the Blue downhill at Fort Bill and they were working perfectly by halfway down.
So with all that boring verbage - have you bedded them in properly?
Used m675 calipers
So have you got magura levers on shimano calipers or as most people do, the other way round? (I'm guessing shimano levers)
Also m675 are servo wave which from what I've read is - I think - crap with magura calipers?
I wrote calipers. I meant levers. Although with the leftover parts I could create a really shit brake setup, that's not what I've actually done! I'm an idiot who doesn't proof read properly.
From what I'd read the servo wave was ok, it's just you could get that initial lack of modulation you get with Shimano, but amplified.
@DickBarton I certainly haven't given them 2 proper rides, no! I guess that's what I was trying to work out, but it sounds like it could be worth persevering before I try other pads. Thanks 🙂
Better get out and get muddy!

It's a shame, the mental image of a calliper each end of the hose, shimano one's strapped to the bar and you with your fingers jammed in the slot trying to squeeze the pistons in order to brake brought me a bit of a smile.
Yeah, get out and give them a good going over - be aware that braking won't be as sharp until they are bedded in...once the pads and rotors are roughened up together they should work much better.
I have the same shigura set up on Race Matrix pads and the power is insane… far better than Zee I came from or if I cast back, the Saints that I last had 4 or 5 years ago (admittedly, they may have got better now!) don’t recall the bedding in period being that onerous, just the usual 20ish stops from high speed. And then done.
Are you sure you have tightened all the compression nuts enough?
I had similar symptoms before on a GRX setup when one of the compression nuts not been tightened enough and has a very very tiny weep. Tightened it up and all was good.
Never had problems with race matrix pads in multiple setups.
We have run Race Matrix for years in all our bike and had no problems. Saints, Codes and Guide REs
Just bought another bike that's a few months old and had just been upgraded to MT7s with Galfer pads and rotors.
After two rides it was quite evident that the lack of stopping power was going to be a problem so dropped the bike off at 18 Bikes on Friday for them to check them over and sort before we swapped them out. Turns out they needed a good bleed at both ends. Tried them in the Peak over the weekend and they are a lot better. Going to give them a bit of time but I'm still not convinced they are any better than Codes or Saints.
We may swap the pads out for Race Matrix in Finale next month just to make sure
