Off to Mansfield to dog sit for a few days in August, and seeing as Sherwood is just around the corner I'm taking a bike up for a few runs on one of the days. Using some Trailforks sleuthing I've worked out there's some cheeky trails in what appears to be slap in the middle of the routes and also some down in the South West area of the woods..
If I'm correct, what would be the better bike of choice? Trek Fuel EX or the Cotic BFeMax? Last time I went there was on a Slash 9.7 and felt VERY over biked on the red and blue. What're the cheeky runs like and is worth taking something squishy on the rear?

The off-piste stuff is similar to the red and blue. It's probably quite overgrown now. I normally use a rigid Singlespeed or a hardtail
