Thinking of a trip this weekend. Worth the bother or will it be flat muddy bog?

They've spent a lot of time over the past few months making it weather-proof.

Even after lots of rain it tends to be fairly fast and more wet than muddy. I'll be there Thursday doing the blue and red trails, so can report back if nobody else does.

There's a few big, deep puddles but the weather proofing they have done has really helped with draining most of it.

Its holding up well considering all the rain we have had, a few wet areas but nothing too difficult.

I was there Sunday, first two sections are a bit gooey but after that its fine until the bit between the trees near the end that's always muddy. Threw it down last night in Mansfield but does seem to dry out quickly with all the sand, should be fine....

Try, flat uninspiring and the weather "proofed" sections are like a standard bit of tarmac? If you like that sort of thing, fill your boots... 😯

Lucien, if you find it boring, you're not going fast enough!

Not quite as boring as people constantly clicking on threads about it just to tell people how its flat and boring though.

Alex, has it occurred to you that I do ride it fast, that I have some experience of riding in a variety of terrain, and that it is genuinely boring, improving? A post earlier states a guy riding a CX bike around it, and it's supposed to be a red graded trail ffs.

I did 3 laps in under 2 hours last week.....and it wasn't that technical, it was dry and I was pushing hard. The new section, after you cross the road near the start that follows a fence line is literally some tarmac / gravel about a metre wide.

Sherwood Pines is fast, fun (when rode quick), easily accessed for all (does not need specific / bad ass bikes)and a great way to ride with all abilities (newbies and Danny Harts).

It is not the peaks or Scotland - granted but quite good fun.

Try the Red and the Blue as a good XC run out and if it is too tame for you get over to the bike park and run some down hills and over the wood work.
