Anyone ridden at the Freeride Mecca ( 😉 ) that is Sherwood Pines recently?

If it stays dry this week, realistically how mucky will it be?

With the current forecast, I reckon it'll be pretty dry by the weekend (apart from the somme section of course). If you can find some of the off-piste stuff, that stays pretty dry too (all on Strava)

I'm currently in Center Parcs next door. If the conditions here are anything to go by, frozen in the mornings, lovely and warm in the day

Everyone talks about the off piste stuff at Sherwood. As a non Stravaist is there anywhere I can see what's out there?

Just look for gaps in the trees along the side of the paths.

Pick one and see where it goes! That's half the fun of riding Sherwood Pines.

But not really much help at finding the trails on the ground, to be honest.

The other thing worth mentioning is quite a bit of it has been subject to some serious forestry action of late. Piste and off-piste affected in some places.

My issue with just finding a path and riding it is that invariably I find myself a pedestrian to annoy. Mind you the jogger doing a full lap of the red the other Saturday AM annoyed me.

Rode Sherwood Pines this morning and to be honest, aside from a couple spots, the conditions are perfect. Looks like Clixbys have been doing some trail work there since I was there last year. A couple of laps of the Kitchener makes for a very pleasant if pedally mornings riding.

I did a couple of laps this morning and considering the weather we've had, the conditions are great, Seems to drain pretty well and there's plenty of trees to absorb the water. The trail was running pretty quick as well 🙂 But there is a diversion in place!!can't remember the sections it takes out though!

Went this morning, conditions were terrible in places. So many deep puddles and standing water. My kit was soaked after one lap and binned it off. They have put in a few new sections which seem to be holding up well. They just need to go round it and cut some basic drainage channels in where the huge puddles have formed.

I drove fairly close to there this morning on the A1 at 06:00 and the weather was shocking, rain in biblical proportions.
So I'm not surprised it was holding water, the carriageway was flooded in places so it must have put some down,

I think next time I pass I might have to nip in for a few laps,
