I think podges point about the variety of response to various crimes is very relevant. As somebody else said these guys are professional well organised thieves and frankly need too much effort to investigate and bring to court not to mention not being worth much on the Top Trumps systems of statistical monitoring. It's a lot easier to go for minor crime and traffic offences which are more likely to bolster the statistics . What you do about this I don't know. Bikes are just toys to those not in the loop.
