You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I'm planning a hardtail build and want a Production Privee Shan GT frame (29er). Any owners on here that can give me some feedback on the following:
- I'm 6:2 (189cm) and like a slightly smaller and playful frame, definitely don't want a long frame (think Cotic, Bird etc). Would a frame size Large suit, or XL ?
- Medium steele frame seems to be about 2.7kg, sound about right ?
- How is the flex in the steel frame ? Is it an efficient frame for long rides (80+miles)
- I'm mainly looking at long XC routes in Scotland, trail rides locally and woodland tracks etc. N
I'm awaiting Shan to restock, hopefully new frames arriving in next few weeks. Absolutely love their colours and designs.
Time for a stealth edit.......🤣
Jezzzz... well spotted! Edited in time! 🙂

I'm 6'1" and having sat on a large Shan GT, I'd say XL all day, they're not big. But your preference for smaller frames might mean you feel differently.
I have a 27.5 shan in medium and am 5.10. Its small, very fun and playful but i wish it was 30 or 40mm longer sometimes.
Amazing bike.
I borrowed a large and I'm 5'11", it was spot on.
It was very lively and felt quite an aggressive bike with 160mm DVO's up front. 27.5 as well.
I can still buy it if I want it but I think somit more XC is for me, maybe even drop bars.
I used the Shan at GT for a few days and it was awesome on the tough stuff.
Seems hard to find their frames in the UK. Anyone know of any dealer of UK shops that stock them ? No info on the website.

Loved my Shan 27.5, but have the Oka now.
..
I had a Shan GT in large, i'm 5'8" and it felt fine. They are quite short compared to many of the newer hardtails we're seeing but it was a lovely looking thing and rode pretty well, I had the Hope BB and had no creaking issues, the integrated headset was fine too.
