Seen comments about it being contentious to ride due to damage… it’s been dry, will we upset anyone or is it OK?

Oh aye. Where was this?

The middle section will still likely be a bit soft, despite the drier weather. I bet you see more boot prints than tyre marks though 😉

I rode it on the sunniest Saturday in May this year and passed loads of walkers who were more interested in slagging me for cheating the climbs on my e-bike than worried about me riding the descent. I can absolutely see why you shouldn’t  ride it after a lot of rain though. Just make sure you lots of meat left on your brake pads. Amazing descent.

Cool. We were going to do it tomorrow but we’ve headed down the road a bit to be home earlier, so we’ll save it for another day.

I can't help feeling that this is a very personal perception and/or it's just a bit of gate-keeping. As I alluded to in my reply above, the majority of the damage and 30m+ trail width is primarily caused by walkers trying to avoid the muddier sections. While the descent off CBM is certainly tamer than it used to be, the higher speeds being obtained are just as likely to cause "ill feeling" towards bikes on the hill.

In any case, you are to be commended for at least caring enough to ask the question.
