Story on road cc about a Eurpoean downhill team being sponsored by Xhamster (don't act like you don't know).
http://road.cc/content/news/179795-only-italy-worlds-3rd-biggest-porn-site-sponsors-cycling-team
Whilst the content of such a site may have content for everybody, i'm not sure how appropriate it is.

As long as they're not on the Gere.

Brings a new meaning to "go hard or go home".

Why is this sexist?

It's part of the continuing drive to make any form of looking at attractive women a BAD THING.

Hmmm, one wonders if they shouldn't have concentrated on enduro rather than downhill?

Mind you, I suppose that DH involves lots of bouncing around, though it's all over in a couple of minutes and you'll be glad you wore protection...

I can see why people may see this as inappropriate but I don't see how it's sexist, there's as many male as female performers in the material they provide and I'd also suggest it's watched by plenty of female's too.

I shouldn't laugh. Can't help it considering the fuss about a non-topless woman used to promote pads, and now hardcore porn sponsoring a cycling team! The PC brigade are going to shit a brick!

Correct, but it's not far off, there's same sex stuff available for both sexes I believe. You also have female stars earning much more than their male co-stars,

So far, in selected paraphrases:

"i'm completely blind to sexism, it has no affect on my life, so it can't exist and there is no problem"

"I wrongfully conflate challenges to sexism as a direct affront to my right to look at women/have a sex life"

Some more beauts on the way i'm sure. Gonna end well i'm sure...

Is anyone else wondering what the 1st and 2nd biggest sites are?

Edit:

Love the quote....

[We] tend to believe that cycling, as xHamster, is all about passion, commitment and a great deal of teamwork.

....but is frequently a solo exercise
🙂

Is the OP another hand wringing wet ?

Sexist - hardly.

I think you'll find that XHmaster along with many other such site truly represents the full and rich spectrum of our multicultural and highly varied society. All tastes, genders and sexualities fully accounted for.

And several people who conflate objectification with sexism. There's a debate to be had about this, but it's not regarding sexism (unless you are genuinely concerned about the low rates of pay for men in the industry).

No, there's an obvious link, but it's an industry that treats everyone badly. If you've got netflix go watch the louix theroux episode on it for a sobering look at the life of the male stars.

The impact on sexism has way more to do with the effect on the consumers rather than those involved in its production.

Agree what you say about the industry. I think i've seen that documentary and other similar ones, the 'reality' of the industry is pretty bloody grim...

+1 never heard of sexhamster

Porn + cycling? Oh, why not, let them have their fun.

Maybe it'll do wonders for those bi-(cycle) curious out there who were worried that regular bicycle riding numbs the old boy?

I feel a bit funny about this to be honest. No, not like that....

This is probably the first time I've said this without any tongue in cheek (oh, come on...) but won't someone think of the kids here? Say they discover the next hero of mtb, with a pron sites address all over his [s]helmet[/s] jersey. There's gonna be a lot of youngsters typing that into Google at the very least, having seen him at an event/in mags/on bike sites.

Isn't there some kind of law to prevent advertising like this?

How young do you think? Where would you draw the line at (naive) curiosity and do you think a bicycle team is best placed to be sending off messages about hardcore pornography?

Just the wrong medium. Great coup though, really helps legitimise and bring some class to something that should be kept in the adult sphere.

@tomhoward: I agree with you completely. As for poah's comment, a child has to be much more actively engaged in getting their hands on an energy drink. Exposing them to - and even encouraging them to seek out - porn, is to encourage secretive, potentially self-destructive behaviour that is incredibly easy to engage with.

Not unlike pot use among young people, the full psychological effects we are still discovering, early exposure to porn is NOT something we know enough about, but I think we instinctively know can not be helpful. Porn/erotica has always been a human reality; that doesn't mean it there should be no limits.

you are pointing out that porn is a bad sponser ( I do agree on that) but having energy drinks is fine even though young kids are exposed to the advertisment?

That's right. In exactly the same way that our parents and grandparents (or whomever) knew that when their 15 year-old son/grandson was out smoking up with his friends, it was probably not good for him, you would be hard-pressed to convince me that you or anyone else on here would think it a good thing if their own 12 year-old boy or girl was shut up in their room watching porn.

I;ve got to admit, i read that and thought 💡 Best put Parental Controls on the Wifi,
I know for a fact that Young Teenagers look at Porn, I did it myself so i know my Son's going to see that and think.......... I'll Google that.

For those that hadn't Seen or "Admitted" seeing it before well you have now, Point Proven. Advertising works.

Home-shot in your bedroom vids. Impressionable, young people who seek assurance, acceptance or to garner complements? I'm jumping two steps ahead but if you become aware of the site, you visit. Who knows where it develops? Who deems a person under age? Does it get shared before it's pulled?

The lovely world of the internet (not). Just because you may like jacking off to it and think 'well boys will be boys/I was the same'. You forget girls and boys can be drawn in and be vulnerable.

Again I'm jumping ahead but honestly how far ahead is it in reality, a day maybe in some cases? Who knows.

I think I'll let them have that horrible redbull drink instead

Hora, I think the Law deems who is under age? In respect to the X-Hamster site do you mean? who filters the content?

God Knows, I shudder to think?

I'd hate to think who uploads stuff there to be honest. And once you have opened something........ Sometimes its too late 😯

But, as to where it leads, Again who knows. As a parent i am aware that the general thought is that Exposure to this kind of Content at a yound age nulls the senses, in doing so broadens your outlook and your levels of excitement, The general feeling towards this by me as a parent and that of others i speak to is that it needs controlling. 30 years ago it wasnt as accessible, you had to go to dirty shops to buy such related material.

At 13 years Old there was no way you were getting that over the counter, or under for that matter.

Now its there at the click of a button,, There is some suggestion that Violent attacks Sexually related are on the increase because of what youngsters are seeing and then they think that's how you carry on. When clearly it isn't. Some Uni's hold workshops for teens explaining these simple factors and what is and isn't acceptable.

I personally think it's wrong that they are sponsoring it, but deep down i think it;s a bit of a wind up.

It's a question of how old you look and subjectivity of a mod(?). A 15yr old could pass for 17/18 depending on who is moderating(?) Which law(s) do the site host/owner follow as well? How long after an upload is something removed?

Anyway. I think I'm thinking too deep into the adverts on bicycles topic.

Poah, I really don't think that energy drinks are even In the same league as pron on the 'things we shouldn't expose kids to' list.

I've never heard of anyone have a warped view on sex, relationships, the opposite sex, and gender roles from an energy drink.

Don't get me wrong, i don't have a problem with pron, so long as the person viewing it knows how to handle it. I'm not convinced a lot of adults do, never mind immature, both physically and mentally, youngsters. While it may not be the greatest cinematic work of our time, 'Sex Ed' with Haley Joel Osmond deals with exactly this. Was on tv t'other day which is why it sprung to mind

What defines sexism in these matters?

Is it something to do with stimulation of the clitoris?

Or less visibly, the G spot?

Is ass to mouth the eqivalent of riding without a mudguard? #enduro

There's a league table of webcams earners on XHampster

You look at how much "Micaah" is taking of punters everynight.

Now ask yourself, who's being taken advantage of ?

,,, Yeah I guess she actually gets a fraction of that though
