Hi

My kid for Whyte 403, I went to look online for recommended guide set up for the suntour forks. I have a Whyte with rockshox which has a really good online guide on psi, rebound settings etc.

I can not find similar for suntour. They are 100mm forks, guide on Whyte has 15-25mm sag. Issue is he doesn’t seem strong enough to push down enough to set sag, I was going to just set it up roughy but no idea what the psi should be?

Any advice for setting up?

Should be just body weight, pushing should not be required.

Keep the fork seals lubricated.

Yeah thats what I went to do set just the PSI to body weight but couldn't find a good online guide for suntour.

The Rockshox online guide is brilliant

Just set the sag to 25% go for a ride as ask them how they feel, don't worry about the lack of online guides, it's not exactly rocket science.

My 9yr old has RS Judy XC on his and there's no where near his body weight in pounds in them, I think there's something like 50psi from memory and he gets full travel on bug hits but they sit up nicely for normal riding and racing.

Kids are tough in some ways but effortless in others.

They simply don't care, they just ride and send it. They jump, trail, pin whatever they have. Simple.

I had a bike here yesterday, G170, the lad has been racing it, riding it, jumping it.

Top components etc. His brakes were badly aligned, discs warper, his gears didn't work, his bars were too wide, etc etc.
He loved it.
