Bottom of bar pointing towards rear axle.
Levers in line with the flare when viewed from the front.

Cheers Stu that's very useful.

I am currently doing the same job as Stumpy is, with a set of Genetic Digest flared bars. Bike is set up on the turbo trainer, and I'm hopping on and off, adjusting seat rails and bar angle to get it right before the bar tape goes on...

Does anyone use auxiliary levers on their flared bars?

Don't bother with interupter levers - they're too close to the stem to be effective, make braking spongier and just get in the way

I set the drops so they feel right I.e. my hand is neither sliding forward or shack when using them.

Flares on my Woodchippers are almost pointing at the BB. That makes the top flat and gives a nice platform with the hoods. I can still reach the levers when at the front of the flare.

IMHO you shouldn't need additional levers. The drops are better for descending in and you should set the bars Hugh enough that you are riding in the drops more often than not - otherwise just fit a flat bar

Im using the chicken levers at the minute, ive fitted it all and used an app on my phone to give me a angle on the flare of 25 degrees,Did read that between 25-32 degrees is the sweet spot
havent rode them yet but feels ok around the garden 🙂
Will try next week before adjusting and taping

With mine I've got them "about right" quite quickly, it's just that there's fine tweaking of the angle of rotation to get the drops comfortable for 7 or 8 hours rather then ok for 2.

Just checked, my drops point at the top of the back tyre.

Tbf I road ride a lot so may have set them up differently.

Do you do a lot of long rides aP?

I've Woodchippers set up as above - pointing back to the rear axle.

I've Cowchippers set up with slightly less kick back, more towards the BB - the top section is wider at the hoods, I think they feel much nicer on "normal" easy trails, but with less options to cruise super wide hand spaced on the drops - but much nicer on the hoods.

I've also Cowbells - they are not that exciting.

I've had Dirt Drops - loved them, should never have sold them...or the Luxy bars :/
